Why I Started Behind the Business
After running a business for 18 years, I’ve seen what works and what doesn’t. More importantly, I’ve seen how many business owners are stuck in dysfunction they can’t diagnose themselves.
You’re too close to see the patterns. Your team won’t tell you the truth in meetings. Exit interviews are polite lies. Coaches ask good questions but can’t see what’s really happening.
I started Behind the Business because struggling SMEs need honest diagnosis, not generic advice. They need someone who’s been there, who can observe their operations firsthand, and who will tell them what actually needs to change.

Why listen to me?
I’m Jacklyn Tierney. I’ve run a regulated business for 18 years, so I’ve lived the chaos, fixed the problems, and know what actually works. I have a law degree (analytical thinking), Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification (operational expertise), and I’m currently pursuing an MSc in Information Systems & Digital Business Innovation (staying current with modern frameworks). I’m not a theorist. I’m not a cheerleader. I’m a practitioner who tells you what I see.
